The University Theatre employs several student assistants during the academic year and summer in a variety of roles. These include administrative office assistants, box office assistants & house managers, scenic, prop & costume construction assistants, and lighting & sound technicians. Graduate Student Assistant Manager of Audience Services: The Assistant Manager (AM) assists the Assistant Director of Theatre in all activities related to the University Theatre Box Office and Front of House.
Student Box Office/Production Office Assistant: General office and reception duties. Ticket sales. House Management for University Theatre productions as assigned.
Student Costume Shop Assistant: Hands-on work creating the costume elements involved in the University Theatre Season. Requires experience in machine and hand sewing.
Student Lighting/Sound Assistant: Hands-on work creating the lighting and sound elements involved in The University Theatre season. Lighting assistants work primarily in the areas of Stage Electrics. Sound Assistants work primarily in areas of Front of House Sound or Audio Production.
Student Scene Shop/Properties Assistant: Hands-on work creating the scenic elements involved in the University Theatre Season. Involves use of power tools, painting, and working with fabrics.
Student Theatre/Dance Technical Assistant: Assists Technical Director with addressing and implementing the technical needs of productions in the Sherbon Theatre, Inge Theatre and other spaces utilized by the Department of Theatre and Dance.
